Compare the LILITH Forbidden Covenant and Modern Ancients Party Queen figures: design, play value, and which collector should choose each.
Quick Answer
If you prefer a detailed, story-driven figure with a darker fantasy theme, the LILITH Forbidden Covenant is your pick. If you want a fun, interactive piece with a bobbing motion and a rock-and-roll vibe, the Modern Ancients Party Queen blind box delivers playful energy. Both are excellent additions, but they serve different collector moods.
Choosing between the LILITH Forbidden Covenant and the Modern Ancients Party Queen comes down to what you value most in a collectible. One leans into intricate, narrative-driven design; the other brings a lighthearted, kinetic charm to your shelf.
Both figures come from 52TOYS, but they sit in different categories and offer distinct experiences. Let's break down the design, play value, and collecting fit so you can decide with confidence.
Design and Theme: Dark Fantasy vs. Tang Dynasty Rock
The LILITH Forbidden Covenant figure is a striking piece that draws on dark fantasy imagery. While the catalog doesn't specify exact dimensions or materials, its design clearly aims for a dramatic, detailed silhouette that fits a gothic or fantasy display. It's the kind of figure that anchors a shelf and invites closer inspection.
The Modern Ancients Party Queen, on the other hand, reimagines Tang Dynasty court ladies as rock stars. With plump, expressive faces and electric guitars, basses, and microphones, it mixes ancient-style makeup with modern stage energy. The figure stands roughly 8.5 cm tall and is made of plastic and metal, giving it a sturdy yet playful feel.
- Consider what mood you want your collection to project: dark and mysterious or bright and whimsical.
Play Value and Interaction
The Modern Ancients Party Queen includes an internal spring that creates a bobbing, wobbling motion. This makes it a fun desk toy or a conversation starter. The LILITH Forbidden Covenant, while not described with any moving parts, likely serves as a static display piece—its value comes from its design and presence rather than interaction.
If you enjoy figures that you can fidget with or that add a bit of kinetic energy to your space, the Party Queen delivers. If you prefer a more traditional, poseable-or-not display figure that you appreciate for its artistry, LILITH fits that role.
- Think about whether you want a figure to handle and play with or one to admire from a distance.
The Tradeoffs
- Design Detail: LILITH Forbidden Covenant likely offers more intricate, story-driven design, while Party Queen focuses on charming, expressive characters with a simpler aesthetic. Choose LILITH for depth, Party Queen for charm.
- Interactivity: Party Queen has a bobbing spring; LILITH is likely static. If you want to fidget or display motion, Party Queen wins. Pick Party Queen if you want a figure that moves.
- Collecting Format: Party Queen is a blind box at $6.00, so you might get a variant you didn't expect. LILITH, if sold as a direct figure, offers certainty in what you receive. Consider your tolerance for surprise vs. knowing exactly what you get.
